Rememberance Respect
A fantastic show of poppies on football kits, no political message from anyone of our respectful young men.

This shows that the younger generations are thankful for those that have given them the chance to live a life free of oppression, a huge thanks to the boys that took part in the Englefield Green Parade today, joining other local groups as a mark of respect.

Manorcroft United we are very proud of you all today,

Cup Final Report

Well done to the under 12's for winning the AFA County Cup today held over in East London.

The first half started with Broomfield Academy making the most of the disjointed scrappy early play. Manorcroft however did begin to get hold of the ball and as the half progressed the Lemons took control of the game firmly, Charlie Cornish looked particularly threatening in the opening exchanges. With Harry J and Luca dominating the midfield a through ball from Jeary was closed down by Cornish, his presence lead to an unfortunate mix up between the goalkeeper and defender, with Louie Mclaughlin now on the scene it was he who nicked the ball ahead of the 'keeper before pushing the ball into the empty net. The half played out with few clear cut chances for either side.

The second half was played in much the same manner, the young Lemons slightly on top but as the game drew to an end the nerves began to set in and Broomfield fashioned a few more half chances, their one clear chance was brilliantly and bravely saved by Jack Redman in the Manorcroft goal. Theo Poupart had the closest attempt at the other end, his header from a corner cleared off the line by the man on the post.

With the Full Time whistle blowing the under 12's are crowned AFA Cup Winners and we hope it's the first of a few this season!

Well done to George, Joe, Pete and of course this superb bunch of players, they have not conceeded a goal in the tournament and their attitude was exemplary throughout. Everyone at the club is extremly proud of you all.

Club Shop

It is with much excitment that the Club has today launched our New, Adidas Club Shop in partnership with Vesey (Discount Football Kits)

We have been aware that our old CLub Shop system was slow and very unreliable relating to stock and so the Club has worked hard to improve this system. The New shop facility will bring many benefits for our members. Items ordered will now be purchased directly and will be delivered straight to your door! We have added the facility to order replacment Shorts and Socks and so these should now be purchased through the shop. The Club is delighted that we can now offer members the chance to purchase to quality items with the Adidas standard at remarkably low prices and look forward to seeing the players wearing some of this brilliant new Club merchandise.

Who know's we might even see a few supporters wearing replica kits!!

Visit the Club Shop page and click the link to access this great addition to Manorcroft United.

A Message from the Chairman
Well thats another year over! It seems to come and go so quickly but what a fantastic tournament once again. A huge thank you to all our sponsors, their contributions have allowed us to provide almost unrivalled awards for those fortunate enough to win either the Trophy or Plate finals. A massive thank you also to each and every team that joined us over the weekend, each year we endeavour to create the right environment for the young men and women in attendance to enjoy their football and also go away feeling like they have participated in something very special.
A thank you of course to all our volunteers, this weekend has once again shown what a fantastic membership this club has, we may not be the biggest club but we certainly have a large percentage of amazing people.

Coopers Hill even if I do say so looked simply awe inspiring over the two days and we have received so many positive reviews for our organisation and friendliness. The weekend has only gone to strengthen what this club has been and will always be; a family orientated club looking to guide and develop not only footballers but people. Much of the hard graft was done by our young men from teams and I cant describe how proud I am to help lead such a fantastic group of players and parents.

Finally I must congratulate all the winning sides and all those that took part as the football on display was at times breathtaking.

My last words however must go toward recognising the people that quite frankly gave up their weekend to help make so many people feel so welcome, when you are at the club next, make a special effort to thank the extraordinary effort put in by some very special people.
Thank You..... Mark & Lorraine Dawber, Nicki & Lee Richards, Chris & Sharon Pate, Lisa Marie Wall, Ross Gates, Darren Bedford, Julie Williamson, Brian Goodey, James Goodey, Ollie Richards, Elizabeth & Simon Emmett, George Armstrong, Joe Burgess, my Dad & Step Mum; Russell & Maxine Turner, Brian & Lou, Michelle Smith, Sarah Jenkins, Neil Fuller.
An extraordinary effort on top of all the other amazing volunteers.

Looking forward to seeing all our members at Presentation on Saturday June 13th.

It was not a case of deja vu at Godalming Town on Sunday April 26th as the under 18's returned to play in their second succesive Cup Final at this venue.

Despite falling behind in the first half the young Lemons found an equaliser from a corner to leave the score 1-1 at the break.

The second half was edged by Manorcroft but Curley Park Rangers defended well and at the final whistle the game remained on a knife edge at 1-1.

10 minutes (2x5 minute halves) of Extra Time followed and with half time in Extra time looming Harry Newell struck the decisive goal. Curley Park tried to lift themselves to find an equaiser but the Manorcroft back line were not to be breached for a second time.

Congratulations to manager Steve Skinner, Andy Brown and all the boys on their win.

Top 3 Finish.....

Having completed their final game of the season the Under 11's must be congratulated on finishing 3rd in their league this season.

After a difficult season last year and with a number of new players the season got off to a good but slightly indifferent start as this group looked to gel together. Since Christmas however they have only lost to a very strong Sutton united team who went on to win the league without dropping a point! This run includes an 8 match win streak to the end of the season.

Well done to all the team we hope this fantastic group will push on and look for promotion next season.

Weekly Round Up

With The Easter break coming to a close we had three games at Coopers Hill on Sunday.

Firstly the u14's were due to finish their season with a game vs Barnes Eagles, unfortunately Barnes were unable to field a team and so the parents plus a few committee members stepped up to entertain the home fans! Needless to say the Dad's and Mum, rolled back the years with Vice Chairman Mark Dawber grabbing the only goal of the game. Well done to the u14's who have had a good season in difficult circumstances. The u12's were then in action vs Barnes and after a slightly lacklustre display against a stubborn opposition a Connor Bardwell goal was enough to see them win 1-0. Finally the u11's played their last game of the campaign, having gone 1-0 down they came back to equalise before falling 2-1 behind. Typically though this battling group of players once again produced some excellent football and soon found themselves level before a stunning Luca Howard-Cartwright left footed strike found the net for a 3-2 win.

Dont forget to 'Play YOUR Part' by coming to support our teams in action in their Cup Finals
